Battery Storage
A battery storage system stores electricity and releases it on demand, for example to use self-generated solar power at a later time, avoid costly demand charges, or bridge a power outage. For SMEs, battery storage systems with a capacity of up to 100 kilowatt-hours can be suitable. In large commercial and industrial settings, this typically means containerized systems ranging from a few hundred kWh to several megawatt-hours of capacity. PHENOGY uses sodium-ion rather than lithium-ion cells for its BESS.
