Grid Connection

A grid connection is the technical and contractual link between a building or facility and the public electricity grid, with a maximum connection capacity set in agreement with the grid operator. If the existing capacity is no longer sufficient for new loads such as EV charging infrastructure or production equipment, an expensive and often lengthy upgrade is required. Battery storage can absorb demand spikes, often making the existing grid connection sufficient without an upgrade.
