Energy Management System (EMS)

An energy management system (EMS) is a software-based control system that automatically optimizes energy flows between generation, storage, loads (e.g. EV charging infrastructure) and the grid connection. Installed on the consumption side of the meter at a building or business site, it reduces energy costs, limits peak demand, increases self-consumption and keeps the site within its grid connection limits. It can additionally dispatch signals to the distributed energy assets in order to generate revenue by offering the site's flexibility to energy markets and grid services.
