Demand Charge Management

In the US, demand charges are fees utilities add to a commercial or industrial customer's bill based on the highest amount of power drawn during a billing period, not just total energy used. For businesses with volatile power draw, they can make up a significant share of the total electricity bill. Reducing peak demand, for example with a battery storage system, is known as demand charge management and helps businesses control and meaningfully lower these costs.
