‘This Award Shows That We Are on the Right Track’

It's always nice to stand on a stage, receive applause and accept an award. In that sense, receiving The smarter E AWARD in the Energy Storage category at The smarter E Europe in Munich was a special moment for us. What I find even more interesting than the award itself, however, is the signal behind it.

Only a few years ago, sodium-ion energy storage was discussed primarily as a promising technology. In Munich, it became clear that the conversation is increasingly focused on practical solutions.

To me, the award is above all a sign that resilience, energy security and independence matter more to the market today than they did just a few years ago.

I encountered this mindset throughout the entire event. The people we spoke with were not looking for technological promises. They were looking for solutions that perform reliably and can be operated safely.

That is exactly what PHENOGY is focused on. Our goal is to turn technologies into practical solutions and provide our customers with systems that work. With the commissioning of our large-scale energy storage system in Bremen, we demonstrated what that looks like in practice.  

And Bremen was only the first step. In the near future, we expect to share news about additional installations, including projects at two leading research and educational institutions in Germany. We are confident that we will continue to demonstrate the value of sodium-ion technology in further real-world applications.

The smarter E AWARD confirms that we are on the right track.
