Security of Supply
Security of supply refers, at the system or grid level, to the ability to reliably provide enough electricity to keep supply and demand in balance. It is monitored by grid operators and regulators and is one of the central goals of energy policy. Battery storage contributes by absorbing surplus capacity when needed and feeding it back into the grid later, helping to ease shortages.
