Round-Trip Efficiency

Round-trip efficiency indicates what percentage of the energy used to charge a battery storage system is actually available again during discharge. The difference comes from conversion losses, for example in inverters, and auxiliary losses, for example in thermal management systems that keep the cells within their operating temperature range. Modern battery storage systems typically achieve more than 88 percent.
